Sports Beijing Roller Hockey
Calling all Rollerbladers and Hockey Players !
Roller Hockey Continues … Following on from the successful launch of this program in 2004 and the continuing popularity, we are seeking to continue this program but need volunteer coaches and parent coordinators to make it a success. The sessions will be divided into 30 minutes of drills followed by a 30-minute game. High school coaches will run the program but volunteer parents are needed to coordinate and supervise all sessions. Ruth Fawcett volunteered to coordinate this program during the last two seasons, but her family has now left Beijing. A new volunteer coordinator is urgently needed for this program. The coordinator needs to arrange parent supervision at all classes, help coaches arrange teams, and communicate with the Sports Beijing office regarding uniforms, equipment, schedules etc. If you can help, please volunteer or, better yet, get your friends to volunteer with you as a TEAM!! Use the Sports Sign-Up form to volunteer of call the office. Numbers limited to 14 players per session.
Ages: 8 years and under (beginners)
9-11 years (intermediate)
Dates: Sundays April 13 to June 8 (no hockey on Sunday, May 4 )
Schedule: 3:00pm - 4:00pm (beginners)
4:00pm - 5:00pm (intermediate)
(Additional sessions will be added before the first hour and after the last hour depending
on registrations, high school coaching resources, and availability of parent volunteers.)
Venue: Beijing Riviera outdoor basketball court (near the Riviera Golf Center)
Fee: RMB 350
Equipment: All players are required to have roller blades and a stick, and to wear full protective gear, including helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and gloves or wrist guards.
Schedule is subject to change pending player registration and coach availability.
