Ice Hockey Club

Ice hockey is an exciting sport for girls and boys of all ages from all nationalities. The Sports Beijing Ice Hockey Club provides a mix of programs for recreational and advanced ice hockey players. So if you can already skate, handle a stick, and enjoy playing ice hockey then the Sports Beijing Ice Hockey Club is the place for you to improve your hockey skills, make new hockey friends, meet other hockey families in the community … while having a fantastic time playing the Greatest Game from the North!! If you have never played ice hockey before or are a new skater just starting out, then join the Sports Beijing Ice Hockey Skating Fundamentals Program.
We have been very fortunate in having many dedicated parents involved in the hockey programs over the years and would like to thank and recognize Shawn Sparling for his many years of guidance and dedication to Sports Beijing community hockey programs and wish him and his family good luck in their move to Malaysia.
Hockey Safety is our priority! Participants in all Sports Beijing Hockey Programs MUST wear a well fitting hockey helmet with cage, neck guard, hockey gloves, all protective padding and shoulder pads. There are a number of hockey equipment outlets in Beijing or equipment can be ordered through Sports Beijing. It is also highly recommended that all children use a mouth guard. “Boil and Fit” mouth guards can be purchased from Sports Beijing in a variety of qualities. "Dentally Fitted" mouth guards can be purchased from a number of local area dental clinics, please contact Sports Beijing for more information.
The SPORTS BEIJING ICE HOCKEY CLUB includes the Sports Beijing House League and the Sports Beijing Imperial Guards Hockey Development Program.
The Sports Beijing House League is a recreational league that focuses on learning and improving hockey fundamentals through a system of fun, progressive, skill development drills coupled with games and scrimmages in our own house league. These leagues need parent volunteers to manage team (don't necessarily need to know how to skate to mange a team) and to help coach. The Sports Beijing Imperial Guards Hockey Development Program is for players skating in the House League that want additional hockey training and a higher level of competition. In additional to playing in the House League, the Imperial Guards have an additional training of about 2hrs per week … once on a Friday and then immediately following their House League games. With help from the Sports Beijing Office and lots of support of team parents, the Imperial Guards teams play other clubs in Beijing, Regionally and seek to enter international tournaments. All players must try-out for the Imperial Guards Teams and players not selected are encouraged to continue training in the House League.
